Lolo boy saves fawn

Payton Hartley spotted the drowning fawn after he heard his dog barking- KPAX TV photo(LOLO)- An 8-year old boy's quick thinking helped save a new farm from drowning in an irrigation ditch near his home.

KPAX TV says Payton Hartley heard his dog barking near his backyard and when he went to investigate he spotted the fawn where it had fallen into a culvert and was struggling. The boy ran for help and his mother helped to get the little deer to safety.

In most cases like this a human's touch might cause a doe to abandon her baby. But the family reports this time the mother came and recovered the fawn and they both went about their business after the little deer got a sip of milk.
