Out to Lunch features 4th of July beer garden

(MISSOULA)- Missoula’s long-running Out to Lunch event will take a more celebratory theme today because of the 4th of July, with a beer garden and free parking for people staying in town for the holiday.
The Missoula Downtown Association decided to take a different approach since the weekly event falls on the holiday this week, having the Badlander set up a beer and wine garden at Caras Park, in addition to 26-different food and beverage vendors.
“This is the first time we have ever had the opportunity to offer beer and wine at Out to Lunch,” said Heidi Starrett, committee chairman for Out to Lunch. “With it being a middle-of-the-week holiday, we wanted to make it special for those who won’t be leaving town for the 4th.”
Music today will be provided by country music band Shodown. SpectrUM Science Learning Center will provide children’s activities.
Because of the holiday, Mountain Line will not be providing the Out to Lunch shuttle or other transit services. However, all parking throughout downtown is free all day Wednesday because of the holiday. That means all meters, lease lots, and garages are open to the public Wednesday.
