Voyeur released on charges in Splash Montana incident

Gauci appeared in court Thursday- KPAX TV photo(MISSOULA)- A former Missoula County detention officer accused of placing a hidden camera in a changing room at Splash Montana is out on his own recognizance while he awaits trial on several charges.

Michael Gauci was arrested last weekend after the husband of one of his victims grabbed the man and held him until police could arrive at the park.

KPAX TV reports Gauci made his first appearance in court Thursday, where's he's being accused of trying to destroy the recordings, as well as burglary. Prosecutors say he filmed several women with the camera, which was hung over the top of a stall in the dressing room.

Gauci is being ordered to stay away from his alleged victims and can't go near the park.

Missoula County Sheriff Carl Ibsen fired Gauci earlier this week, saying he had violated department policies.
