KPAX TV photo(MISSOULA)- A Missoula group claims it has gathered over 6,000 names in an effort to convince the University of Montana to leave the UM golf course alone.
The university is pursuing plans to close the course so that the space can be used for the long-discussed "South Campus" expansion. But a core group of people feel that's a big mistake, and goes against the original concept of having that land as "open space" near the school.
Now, KPAX TV reports the group calling itself Advocates for Missoula's Future say they're building support for their plan for UM to move the expansion to land the school already owns adjacent to Fort Missoula, instead of closing the course.
