Crews save homes from Mission Road Fire

KRTV photo(WOLF CREEK)- Hard work by fire crews has saved seven homes and half-a-dozen other structures from the Mission Road Fire, which started earlier this week.

The blaze north of Wolf Creek was reported Sunday evening and had grown to 1,200 acres by Monday morning. The fire grew to more than 3,000 acres later that same day, as the flames were fanned by high winds.

However, KRTV is reporting fire teams have managed to get 50% containment on the fire by Tuesday afternoon, saving the homes and other buildings. Crews will be continuing their work to fully contain and then mop-up the fire.
