Fatal Ravalli crash being investigated

(RAVALLI)- Montana Highway Patrol is working to figure out what caused the driver of a car to cross over the centerline causing a three-car crash Sunday that killed the driver.

KPAX TV reports the crash happened just north of Ravalli on U.S. 93, when the driver of the Honda crossed the centerline as it was headed northbound, hitting a southbound car head-on. A third car swerved off the highway to miss the crash. 

MHP says the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man and woman in that car were airlifted to Missoula. The driver of the car that was hit was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. 


Authorities identify Missoula woman killed in I-90 crash

(WARM SPRINGS)- Authorities have released the name of the 26-year old Missoula woman who was killed in a two car crash on I-90 near Warm Springs over the weekend.

Montana Highway Patrol says Kayla Williams was killed when she swerved to miss some tire debris in her lane, overcorrecting and sending her Honda across the median and into the on-coming traffic, hitting an oncoming car. 

KXLF TV reports Williams wasn't wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. A German couple in the second car were injured, with the man driving the car having to be airlifted to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. The woman riding in the car was treated and released. 


Two dead after crash outside Browning

(BROWNING)- Another serious crash involving a roll-over and no seat belts has claimed two lives near Browning.

KRTV reports the crash happened just after 10 Wednesday night west of Browning on U.S. 2.

Montana Highway Patrol says the driver swerved to miss a cow on the highway, causing the vehicle to rollover several times as it left the road. The 45-year old driver and a 50-year old passenger were both thrown from the car and died instantly. Two boys, ages 14 and 8-years old, were taken back to Browning for treatment. 

Troopers say none of the people in the car were wearing seat belts. 


Motorcyclist hurt in I-90 crash

(CLINTON)- MHP troopers aren't sure what caused a motorcycle rider to run off the freeway and crash near Clinton Friday afternoon. 

The crash happened when two bike riders were traveling together in the Clinton area.

KPAX TV reports one of the riders lost control of his bike and ran into the median where he crashed, breaking both of his legs. His companion didn't see the crash.

Troopers say the rider was wearing a helmet, and it took the force of the impact, with cracks that happened during the crash. 


Two die when motorcycles crash in Eastern MT

(FORSYTH)- Two people were killed and two others injured in a unusual crash involving two motorcycles on Highway 12 outside Forsyth.

KTVQ reports the accident happened about 3:40 p.m. when the two bikes tangled as one was slowing to pull off the road. 

MHP troopers say the second bike smashed into the trailer that was being pulled by the first, killing both the 57-year old man who was driving the bike and his 53-year old passenger.  The man and woman on the first bike were injured and taken to the hospital in Forsyth. 

Troopers say all the victims were from Washington and none were wearing helmets.
